Two Toyne Pumper-Tankers Delivered to Shawnee Heights, KS
Founded in 1939, the Topeka-Tecumseh Fire District protects unincorporated areas in Shawnee County, Kansas, surrounding the City of Topeka. In 2005, the Board of Trustees changed the fire district name to Shawnee Heights Fire District to better represent the response territory. Shawnee Heights recently contracted Toyne, Inc. to engineer two pumper-tanker trucks for their growing fleet.
Toyne Celebrates 75th Anniversary
It all started in 1942 when blacksmith ‘Gib’ Toyne was asked by the City of Schleswig, IA, to produce a fire truck that would be mounted on a Model A Ford chassis. In 1978, long time employee Roger Schwabe purchased the growing apparatus manufacturer from Toyne in 1978, and sons Mike and Bill Schwabe run the company today. Since its inception, Toyne, Inc. has consistently delivered quality-built fire apparatus to departments across the nation.
Nashville Fire Department Orders Ten More Toyne Pumpers
The Nashville Fire Department responds to more than 100,000 emergency calls per year. Due to the Nashville, TN, population and number of emergencies, Nashville is in the ‘top 20’ fire departments in the United States. Because of this large responsibility, the department has entrusted Toyne Fire Apparatus to engineer an additional 10 pumpers for their expanding fleet.
Toyne Presents Powerful Lineup at 2017 FDIC
The largest firefighter conference and expo in North America begins today and Toyne will continue to maintain a strong presence at the event. The 2017 Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) takes place at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN, today through Saturday. The Iowa-based fire apparatus manufacturer will present three of the company’s most versatile trucks.
Tate County Mississippi Accepts Delivery of Third and Fourth Toyne Tanker
The Tate County Board of Supervisors based out of Senatobia, Mississippi, recently tasked Toyne with engineering their third and fourth tankers in two years. The new additions will aid Tate Co., MS, emergency personnel as they continue to expand their fleet of fire apparatus.
