Breda, Iowa - The Moncure, NC Volunteer Fire Department has added two new fire apparatus to their growing fleet. The Chatham County, North Carolina department recently accepted delivery of a Toyne Pumper and Pumper Tanker that will help expand their firefighting and rescue capabilities.
Moncure’s new custom side mount pumper was built on a Spartan Metro Star MFD 10” raised cab and chassis and is powered by a Cummins ISL 450 hp engine and Allison 3000 EVS transmission. To fight fires, the Toyne Pumper is outfitted with a Hale Qmax 1500 gpm pump and UPF 1000 gallon tank, and an Onan 8k hydraulic generator.
The second new Toyne Tailored Apparatus engineered for the Moncure VFD is a custom bolted, painted, stainless steel pumper tanker that has been mounted on a Freightliner cab and chassis. A Hale Qmax 1250 gpm pump and UPF 3000 gallon tank have been included along with two Zico hydraulic 3000 gallon portable tank racks. Similar to their new pumper, Moncure’s new pumper tanker is also equipped with a Cummins ISL 450 hp engine and Allison 3000 EVS transmission.
