03.02.16

BREDA, Iowa - Providing support for a community of nearly 8,000 residents, the Bridgeport Charter Township Fire Department in Saginaw County Michigan, once again called on Toyne to build a new pumper for their department. The new apparatus, which features a bolted painted stainless steel body, was built on a Spartan Metro Star ELFD 24” chassis, and is driven by a Cummins engine and an Allison 3000 EVS transmission. A Hale Qmax 1500 gpm pump and UPF 500 gallon tank provide firefighting support, along with a Foam Pro 2001 Class A/B foam system. Additional equipment include an Onan 8K hydraulic generator and Fire Research telescoping lights.

Aside from their brand new Toyne Tailored Apparatus, Bridgeport’s department, which includes full-time and on-call firefighters, also utilizes another Toyne/Spartan Pumper to round out its fleet of emergency vehicles. Bridgeport firefighters support and protect a 36 square mile area as well as providing and receiving mutual aid from bordering communities.
