03.21.19
Breda, IA (March 21, 2019) - In April, Toyne will gear up to showcase its latest fire apparatus and customization expertise at the 2019 Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) in Indianapolis, Indiana. FDIC is the world’s largest firefighter expo and conference. The event will be held in the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium from April 9-13. Toyne's booth will feature a tailored Aerial and Pumper demo apparatus.
Taking center stage at Toyne’s booth this year is a fully customized Aerial apparatus. The aerial is mounted on a 2019 Spartan Metro Star MFD Chassis with a 10” raised roof and has seating for six firefighters. The powertrain consists of a Cummins ISL9 450-horsepower engine and an Allison 3000 EVS transmission. Other customizations include a 75-foot rear mount LTC steel ladder with an Akron remote controlled monitor. Water is stored in a 500-gallon UPF tank and can be pumped at 2,000 gallons per minute with its Hale Qmax pump.
Attendees will also be able to get a closer look at Toyne’s Pumper demo unit. This apparatus is designed around a 2019 Spartan Metro Star MFD chassis with a 10” raised roof. A 450-horsepower Cummins ISL9 engine and Allison 3000 EVS transmission power the apparatus. To store water, the pumper is outfitted with a 1,000-gallon UPF tank that features an ICI SL Plus tank gauge. Toyne integrated a Hale Qmax, 1,750 gallon-per-minute, top mount pump into the pumper’s design.
“FDIC gives us the opportunity to demonstrate our customization capabilities to the thousands of fire industry professionals that attend the annual event,” said Michael Schwabe, President of Toyne, Inc. “We are proud of the fact that fire departments across the nation trust in our apparatus to take the call, and we wanted to show that in our booth this year.”
Visitors can find Toyne at booth #1839 in the Indiana Convention Center. The Toyne Aerial and Pumper demo apparatus are available for sale. Representatives will be present to answer questions and discuss the benefits of answering the call with a Toyne Tailored Apparatus.
FDIC International draws in over 34,000 fire professionals from dozens of countries around the world. During the six-day conference, attendees participate in workshops, classes, and demonstrations. The event also represents one of the most comprehensive selections of products and services from the Fire & Rescue industry.
